Daily Wisdoms: The Sound of Silence

Contemplative silence (or meditation) turns us away from everyday clamor and allows us to hear the subtle in our own lives. By listening not with the ear but with the spirit, one can perceive the subtle sound. By entering into that silence, we enter into a state of supreme purity and clarity.

Daily Wisdoms: The Bridge of Elders

innercirckleshdrThe people just now hitting 50 are the “turning point” generation – the bridge between the generations before them that they saw screw up this world, and the generations behind them that can do something about it. We need to educate our children about what we have seen in our lives, what we did horribly wrong to ruin this world and what we should have done to make it right.  Western society really dropped the ball when they stopped listening to their elders – the people who have seen and learned from experience. Elders in a society are there to teach all the generations below them what they have learned so things can be improved upon. Once we stopped listening to the old and wise in this country and thus they stopped giving us their wisdom, we were doomed. We lost our insight into the future by not listening to the past.
