Cannabis (Marijuana) Cures Cancer and Now Lyme Disease.

by Redstone Promotional Communications / Circkles.com.

Some people are dead-set against legalizing marijuana. Of course, they are not the ones who are sick. It's too bad that marijuana was determined to be an "evil" addicting drug years ago, because it now has some astonishing proven medical benefits. After all, what is Cannabis (marijuana) but just another herb? Unfortunately, one that has been abused over the years to the point that it has been next to impossible to use it for it's medicinal benefits. Aside from hundreds of claims coming forward that it is a cure for cancer - and if you read the Facebook page listed at the bottom of this article, you will find numerous testimonials to this fact - it has now been the focus of studies verifying that it cures lyme disease and other things.

Many may find the idea of medical cannabis somehow "wrong," as we've been indoctrinated to view marijuana as a dangerous gateway drug that will lead you down a path of illicit drug use, but these people fail to keep in mind that prescription drugs are far more likely to turn people into "junkies." Legal drug addiction is taking lives in record numbers far greater than marijuana use is. Research from the UK shows one million people are addicted to over-the-counter painkillers alone. In the US, there were four times more deaths among women from prescription painkiller overdose than for cocaine and heroin deaths combined in 2010.
Another study estimated that in a five-year span, some 800,000 people in Europe were killed from inappropriate use of beta-blockers in non-cardiac surgery patients. Deaths attributed to cannabis barely register in comparison.

Hemp is NOT Cannabis - per se.

You will find a great many hemp oil and hemp products advertising and linking themselves as cannabis to snare those ignorant consumers who don't know the difference. While they are subspecies of the same plant species, they look very different, and are extremely different when it comes to medicinal qualities.
The thing they have in common is that they both contain cannabidiol (CBD), which has medicinal properties. The amount of CBD however, differs greatly between the two. Dosing, therefore, is dramatically different where you to try to use hemp in lieu of cannabis, as the latter, cannabis, is up to 100-fold more potent. Another difference that appears to matter in terms of its usefulness as medicine relates to differing terpene profiles. Hemp contains very little of these valuable medicinal compounds.
Then, there's the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content. THC is the psychoactive component of marijuana; it's the molecule that makes you feel "stoned." (While cannabidiol (CBD) also has certain psychoactive properties, it does NOT produce a high.) By legal definition, hemp cannot have more than 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in it. Therefore, Cannabis is much more potent due to high amounts (about 10-20 percent) of CBD, critical levels of medicinal terpenes, and flavonoids, as well as THC in varying ratios for various diseases. The higher the THC, the more pronounced its psychoactive effects.

Over the years, as more growers bred out the all-important CBD in marijuana primarily so the plant gets you high, its original medicinal properties fell by the wayside. With the legalization of marijuana, and it finally being recognized for medicinal use, this is starting to change.

"Five years ago, California Physicians, and other groups around the world, didn't really know if we would find CBD-rich strains anymore, but we have. Now there's many different varieties of it. We keep bringing back new CBD rich strains every month or two. These plants genes' haven't seen the light of day for God knows how long." Says Dr. Frankel, who has studied the effects of medicinal cannabis use. "You can make more sedating medicine by letting it just stay on the vine three weeks longer. Even how long you let it grow makes it a very different medicine, a noticeably different medicine," he adds.
In his medical practice, Dr. Frankel treats a wide variety of patients with medical cannabis, which has become his specialty. Despite the many claims of cannabis performing miracles, he's reluctant to think of it as a cure for anything. Occasionally, however, patients will experience very dramatic results. For example, he has seen tumors virtually disappear in some patients using no other therapy except taking 40 to 60 milligrams of cannabinoids a day. The most common thing he sees in cancer patients, however, are tumors shrinking, or a metastasis disappearing. Sometimes tumors will shrink or vanish, only to reemerge in other areas, months later, and then shrink or vanish again...

Other common ailments being treated with cannabis include:
• Mood disorders
• Pain disorders
• Degenerative neurological disorders such as dystonia
• Multiple sclerosis
• Parkinson's disease
• PTSD
• Seizure Disorders

Dr. Frankel recounts how two dystonia patients with severe myofascial spasms were able to return to normal life after taking two milligrams of whole-plant CBD three times a day for a little more than one week. This is quite astounding, considering each of them had spent more than a decade undergoing neurosurgeries and taking multiple medications.
However, when cannabis is inhaled, smoked, or vaporized, its effects are rapid and short-lasting. Orally, it's unpredictable and delayed. When ingesting it, it can take up to two hours to take effect, but if dosed appropriately, you can achieve once-a-day dosing with an edible medicine.
As some of you "experimenters" may know, when smoked, as little as 10 mg of CBD acts as a major appetite suppressor. CBD is also an excellent painkiller, particularly for tooth pain when the cannabis oil is applied sublingually or directly onto the tooth. Cannabis oil can also help heal sunburn overnight. CBD is also very effective for anxiety disorders. Just a couple of milligrams of whole-plant CBD can effectively subdue anxiety without causing any kind of mental deficiency or high.

How to get it? Dr. Frankel explains:
"A patient or a human being 18 and over or with a parent's consent in California can get a medical cannabis card recommendation letter if they or any physician or doctor of osteopathic medicine (D.O.) agree. It doesn't have to be for any specific condition. In other states, it's very, specified. In California, there are 12 conditions listed, but then it says 'or any condition agreed upon by the doctor and patient,' which kind of opens it up quite a bit."
With your medical cannabis card, you have the authority to go to whatever collective you want and pretty much select what medicine you want. Now, that is exactly what the good, the bad, and the ugly is. I love free choice, but we need free choice with education. There's virtually zero education going on in the collectives. I mean, there are random places here and there that make an effort but it's really minimal."
A British pharmaceutical company called GW Pharmaceuticals has a cannabis product that is distributed in Canada and five other countries. It's a 1:1 CBD-THC whole plant extract. "It's a very good medicine," Dr. Frankel says. "But it's expensive. That's the problem with pharmaceutical companies." Dr. Frankel also consults with various states that are interested in growing medicinal CBD, i.e. cannabis with a high CBD content and hemp-level (extremely low) THC. He even gives the CBD seeds away. "I make the offer: if any governor in the 50 states wants, absolutely free – as long as I can do it legally – any of these high-ratio CBD strains, I can make it happen. No cost," he says.
"This is one of the important points I'd like to emphasize: I think we're going to find ultimately that CBD is a nutritional supplement for everybody. I think we were all using cannabis 100 years ago... I think then, if they had hemp for food, there was CBD in it. Again, I wasn't there, but my guess is that everybody had CBD in their diet up until 100 years ago or so. CBD appears in some of the newest data to help protect your DNA epigenetic layer. That's important stuff for all of the toxins that we have in our environment. I think we have more toxins now, and we're missing one of the major protectants that we used to use for this. That's a double whammy."

As a Cancer Cure:
The main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis - tetrahydrocannabinol - could be used to reduce tumor growth in cancer patients, according to an international research team.
A 1981 Washington University, St. Louis, School of Medicine graduate, Dr. Charles Goldman treated angiosarcoma patients and doesn’t think Mackenzie’s claims of cancer-killing cannabis oil are far-fetched.
Goldman said lab and animal research have been done that shows cannabinoids like tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, and cannabidiol, or CBD, block tumor proliferation in lung and breast cancer. Legalizing medical marijuana would free up doctors to further research the drug’s benefits, he said.

Cannabis and Lyme Disease Successes:

There are two levels of handling Lyme with cannabis: managing symptoms well by smoking marijuana, or completely reversing the disease with cannabis oil. Not many are aware of cannabis oil pioneered by Rick Simpson a few years ago. Rick has said that most of the healing qualities of cannabis are lost in the smoke. Cannabis oil is a highly concentrated substance that's extracted and reduced from large amounts of cannabis with a good balance of THC and other cannabinoids. It has become increasingly available in states that allow medical marijuana. But it's also available "underground" if you search on the internet. This is the stuff that has been curing cancer lately.

Alexis, diagnosed with late-stage Lyme disease, is an example of someone handling symptoms without pharmaceuticals by smoking marijuana. She was on antibiotics long enough for her gastrointestinal tract to be damaged and to be hospitalized with hemorrhagic colitis. She was taken off antibiotics and put on several strong pain prescriptions that were barely effective while putting her into low emotional states. Then she tried smoking marijuana. That routine handled most of her nausea, enabled her to eat well enough to avoid wasting away, helped her sleep better and eased her pain while elevating her mood. She maintains that marijuana has been the best thing for her Lyme disease.

Alexis wrote, "In the hospital, I have needed to have morphine or lorazepam through an IV to accomplish what smoking two grams of cannabis does on the comfort of my couch, in a fraction of the time." Others have also discovered using cannabis oil for Lyme disease.

Shelly White's Lyme disease was so debilitating that she had endured at least 10 seizures daily for a year and a half. She began smoking marijuana from a pipe and then switched to inhaling it through a vaporizer. Just from that, her seizures had stopped. Then she decided to go to the next level of using cannabis oil. Foods That Heal: Aronia (Chokeberry).

by Redstone Promotional Communications / Circkles.com

Every time we turn around, there's some new "Super Food" or more like "Super Berry" that has suddenly been discovered to have wonderful health benefits. In a nutshell, most berries are very good for health because many of them contain powerful antioxidants and polyphenolic pigment compounds, like anthocyanins. But anyway, let's discuss the latest "Super Berry" to be discovered because it is actually native to the Northern U.S., so you don't have to read all the wonderful health benefits of the latest super food only to find out that you would have to go to the deepest regions of some foreign country like Indonesia to get it.

Aronia Berry, also know as Chokeberry - and not to be confused with the ChokeCHERRY - grows in cooler, damp climates like the NE United States in swamps and wetlands, or the cooler parts of Europe and Asia. Don't let this discourage you growers out there. It is very resilient to drought, pests, pollution and disease, so you can grow this in your backyard if you can find one with garden suppliers.

There are a few different species of aronia with either black (Aronia melanocarpa), red (arbutifolia), or the purple hybrid (prunifolia) berries. This deciduous shrub usually grows between three and ten feet tall, and the average person would be hard-pressed to tell this shrub from any ordinary chokecherry tree. The way to tell the difference between aronia (chokeBERRY) and chokeCHERRY is in the fruit: Chokeberry has tiny seeds and chokecherries have pits.

Most dark red and purple fruits are rich in anthocyanins - a category of antioxidants with potent cell protecting properties that also reduces systemic inflammation, a known cause of many diseases and conditions. The amount of anthocyanins in aronia is several times higher than that in cranberry juice and this little wild shrub contains some of the highest amounts of any know plant, which is why it is being studied now for its effects on the formation of arterial plaque and lowering serum cholesterol. Anthocyanins also protect the liver against a host of insults and toxins. Aronia’s compounds help to lower blood sugar and improve the body’s own natural production of insulin, are natural cancer fighters, and protect against the development of tumors of the bladder, breasts, colon, lungs, ovaries and skin. In addition, these compounds fight Crohn’s disease, inhibit HIV, reduce uncomfortable symptoms of PMS and fight herpes. Preliminary studies have also shown that aronia may prove helpful in slowing the growth of glioblastoma – a form of fatal brain cancer

Since the 1940s, aronia has been commercially cultivated in Russia, and since the 1950s, it has been a commercial crop in Europe. In 2009 the Midwest Aronia Association formed in Iowa to provide information and resources to farmers who wanted to get involved with commercial farming of this super berry. The tannins, in aronia berries make it very bitter when raw - hence the name "chokeberry" - but when cooked they can be used in a variety of delicious ways such as wine, jam, syrup, or even candies. However, cooking anything usually destroys any medicinal value in it. Aronia is also used as a natural color or flavoring for food products like yogurt or juices. The intense coloring of Aronia berries is actually a natural defense from harsh sunlight. The pigmentation develops as a "sunscreen" to protect the pulp and seeds from the sun's UV rays.

HOME REMEDIES: Acne - Natural Treatments For Scars and Blemishes.

Caused by bacteria and dead cells clogging skin pores, several factors contribute to the formation of acne. Overproduction of oil, and buildup of bacteria in the skin, hormones, certain medications and foods can also adversely affect the health of the skin.

Lemon juice is one of the best treatments for acne scars. All you need is a fresh lemon or fresh squeezed lemon juice, which you will then mix with a cup of water and apply to the scarred areas on your face for three to four minutes with a washcloth soaked in the solution. Doing this everyday eliminates dead skin and promotes new skin growth.
- Always moisturize after applying lemon juice to the skin, as the citrus juice can irritate dry skin.

Honey can be used to treat not only acne scars but also acne itself. It is gentle on your skin and reduces redness and irritation. Raw, unfiltered honey naturally contains antibacterial properties which help to fade acne scarring and dark marks. It is moisturizing and makes your skin soft. Dab a little honey directly onto the scars at night, and wash off in the morning.

Rosehip oil is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants which help to keep skin looking smooth and healthy and its use has been proven effective in repairing acne scars as well as other forms of scars and skin blemishes. Through regular use, marks and scars will fade and become less prominent over time. Simply massage the oil gently into the affected area once or twice a day.

Baking soda is another treatment to help with fading acne scars. Just mix baking soda with water to create a paste like mixture then apply to your face like you would a regular facemask. This will not only eliminate dead skin cells but it will also make your scars less noticeable over time.

Coconut Oil due to its lauric, caprylic and capric acid, makes an excellent cream to help diminish acne scars. Coconut oil also helps to prevent new acne scars from forming. To fade acne scars, massage coconut oil into the affected area at least once a day, but 2-4 times daily is best.

Aloe Vera is known in the cosmetic field for its skin-healing properties, and it can be used to gently, yet effectively heal acne scars over time. Although you can buy many aloe-based gels commercially, the best thing to do is purchase an aloe plant, break off a leaf and rub the gel-like contents directly onto the skin. Let it dry, then leave it on overnight. Wash off with a mild cleanser. Try to do this every day.

Vitamin E oil has incredible moisturizing properties and is an effective treatment for acne scars. Apply pure vitamin E oil to your skin 2-3 times daily, and you should see results in about 2 weeks

"Try this regimen every morning and before bed:
1. Wash face with mild soap or lemon juice.
2. Exfoliate softly with baking soda.
3. Moisturize with coconut oil, vitamin E, honey, rosehip oil or aloe vera gel.

HERBS:

How to use herbs for maximum benefit. Short and sweet descriptions and uses written by our on-staff Nutritional Herbalist. Always remember that herbs should be treated as a medicine. Almost all of our modern-day medicines are derived from compounds found in herbs and plants. If you have not used a particular herb before, try a half dose at first to make sure you do not have an unfavorable reaction to it.

Feverfew Tanacetum parthenium.

Medicinal Properties: Mostly known for relieving fevers but this is not its strongest attribute. Feverfew is a very good anti-inflammatory when taken internally, and dilates blood vessels making it beneficial for migraine sufferers. Feverfew, like most herbs, has to accumulate in the body over a few doses to start working, so don't expect instant results in the first dose. After 2-3 doses you should notice some benefit, and with migraines it is more useful to take feverfew the instant you feel a headache coming on and keep taking it for at least 4-5 doses before you can determine whether or not it is going to work. Feverfew works well on swelling, arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome because of its anti-inflammatory qualities and has been used for pain and to relax spasms.

How to Use: Feverfew is very bitter and some people cannot tolerate its taste. The best way to use it is fresh, it does not work in capsule or dried forms, so chew up the leaves (1-2 small leaflets) and then swallow them. Most people eventually get used to the taste, but that first mouthful can be nasty. Tea is out of the question. I chew it up, roll it into a ball in my mouth and swallow it quickly washed down with some water or juice.

Parts Used: Whole plant, leaves.

Growing: Easy to grow from seed and readily self sows. Full sun, moderate moisture.

Warnings: Handling leaves may cause dermatitis in some individuals. May upset some people's stomachs, if so, take with a small amount of food.

Some Herb Basics: Most herbs work better on an empty stomach. A few exceptions are garlic, goldenseal and cayenne due to stomach upset. Herbs work in a cumulative fashion meaning they are not a "one dose wonder." They need to build up in the system a little, usually within 2-3 doses, before any real affect can be noticed. Fresh herbs always work better than old herbs and science is always proving the fact that a whole herb usually is more effective than one isolated compound of that herb.
