About Inner Peace Circkles

This Circkle's section is about spiritually re-connecting with the bigger picture: the universe, nature, inner self, inner spirit, our roots. That part that we've been taught to deny since birth because it's deemed useless or not necessary for a career or business. Spirituality (is not the same as religion), emotional well-being, the soul - whatever you want to call it. That thing that is often hard to describe but which we all possess if we cultivate it, and which ultimately leads to living to our highest mental and emotional potential.

Most people would agree, humans are more than just flesh and bone; we all have an inner facet that makes each of us a unique individual. An inner self that must be cultivated and healthy to make a whole human being. People often think of their physical health, but rarely of their emotional health. Even the greatest minds of our time recognized that we only know a fraction of what the mind is capable of. A whole, healthy individual is an asset and integral part of a whole, healthy society. Only a narrow mind will fail to see this and continue to keep itself confined to what it already knows. So let's explore the endless possibilities together.

Signs and Superstitions

by Philip W. Viens
Do you believe in signs? Are you superstitious? I do and I am – a little of each – and not for the reasons that support either.

I believe in signs because of the magic that comes with the notion that I am present in two or – maybe more dimensions simultaneously – the idea that there is more to know and experience beyond the knowledge horizon.

First STeps to Connecting with self

Getting Rid of Selfishness.

A lot of people THINK they reconnect with nature on the weekends. They say, “Yeah, I went hiking this weekend, or fishing, or sat on the beach or went for a walk,” but this is ENJOYING nature not connecting with it.

While being in nature, did you marvel at it’s ingenuity, it’s perfection? The perfectly blue sky with dabbles of fluffy white clouds above the perfectly green, nourishing landscape, surrounded by perfect trees and vegetation grown by the warmth of the perfect sun? The rains and how it all gives us oxygen to breathe and food to eat? The animals and organisms that are in perfect balance? That we have been given everything we need to not just survive, but live happy, healthy, nurturing lives when man does not intervene with his greedy, commercialized ways?

The Crow

the crow

There’s a crow outside my window

Hopping along the road, announcing – something.

Only the finch in a neighbor’s tree answers, the pink and orange leaves now stripped after yesterday’s wind and rain – colder, it would have been sleet – but they lay scattered in the wet green grass while a weakening summer clings to this hemisphere between Earth and tropopause – the thin places.

I touch my fingers to my lips and look out the window, the crow, now in the distance still with something to say.

It’s as if I am the only human creature, the crow, the finch the tumbling leaves.

Meditation improves brain function

meditation improves brain function

Many people don’t see the point in meditation, but those who practice it know it’s benefits and now scientific evidence proves it. We have touched on clearing your mind so you can focus on the present moment and thus gain wisdom and insight as to how to better handle life events. Meditating goes hand in hand with this and is a technique that helps you to practice focusing and clearing your mind. And, as mentioned below, scientific evidence shows the physical positive changes meditation has on the brain.

Step 6: Ruling Your World - Auspicious Coincidence.

Marcus Aurelius statue

"Confine yourself to the present.”

“Forget everything else. Keep hold of this alone and remember it: Each one of us lives only now, this brief instant. The rest has been lived already, or is impossible to see.” ~ Marcus Aurelius 160 CE - over 2,000 years ago.

We are going to go a bit off the path for a moment and talk about an interesting concept not many people are aware of. Most of us know about the typical benefits of being and living in the present moment, but have you ever experienced auspicious coincidence?

daily wisdoms: the bridge of elders

The people just now hitting 50 are the “turning point” generation – the bridge between the generations before them that they saw screw up this world, and the generations behind them that can do something about it. We need to educate our children about what we have seen in our lives, what we did horribly wrong to ruin this world and what we should have done to make it right.

Wise Quotes

“I find it sad that too many do not understand themselves, or their potential. They don't even take the time to get to know their unconsciousness. You can truly learn so much, by simply getting to know the "you" that is behind the reality of yourself.”
~ Lionel Suggs

"Real fearlessness is the product of tenderness. It comes from letting the world tickle your heart."
~ Chogyam Trungpa

"To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life." ~ John Burroughs

A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”  ~ Albert Einstein

“Connect with your inner self. A beautiful sanctuary exists within you. A place of total calm. A connection to stillness. A temple of sacredness, peace, beauty, love. Once you are truly at this infinite inner place, your true home, you will be at home anywhere, at anytime, with anyone. A place where INFINITE possibility exists.”
~Angie Karan Krezos

"A mind that knows its own depth can see the brilliant, elemental magic of the world."
~  Sakyong Mipham

"You have power over your mind; not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.”
~ Marcus Aurelius.

"Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." - Roald Dahl

"Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished."
- Lao Tzu

“Delight in itself is the approach of sanity. Delight is to open our eyes to the reality of the situation rather than siding with this or that point of view.”
– Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

"We alays blame the outer world for our failures, unhappiness and frustration. It is time to realise that it is health, harmony and wealth of our inner world that determine the degree of our success, joy, peace and bliss.”  ~ Vishwas Chavan

“Inner stillness is the key to outer strength.” ~ Jared Brock

Nature is man's teacher. She unfolds her treasures to his search, unseals his eye, illumes his mind, and purifies his heart; an influence breathes from all the sights and sounds of her existence."
~ Alfred Billings Street
